The Patient's Guide to
Pharmacogenetic Testing
Advanced Pharmacogenetic testing reveals how your unique DNA
affects your medication response. Stop the guesswork.
DNA guided medication insights for better outcomes.
"And all it takes is a simple cheek swab."

For millions of patients taking multiple prescription medications,
the reality is frustrating and sometimes dangerous:
You're taking medications as prescribed, but you're still experiencing symptoms. Your treatment seems ineffective despite your doctor's best efforts.
You're experiencing difficult side effects that make daily life challenging. The medication that should be helping you is creating new problems instead.
You've been through multiple medication changes, each with its own adjustment period and potential complications. The process feels random and exhausting.

Client with Cardiovascular Disease

Although I exercised, and took good care of myself, I learned at an annual doctor's visit that my cholesterol was elevated, and I had blockages in my arteries. My physician recommended medication. After a year of taking the prescription, I learned that my cholesterol had not dropped much, and my physician suggested doubling my dose without checking to see if my body was able to process the prescribed medication. Instead of waiting for another year, hoping to get results, I ordered pharmacogenetic testing. My health care team now uses my test results to customize medications that work with my body, not just guessing to see if a prescription may or may not work for me.

Client with Anxiety & Depression

I spent several years trying different antidepressants and didn't feel like the medications I was taking were helping. If anything, I felt "different", not myself, and was wired, anxious, and couldn't sleep. I was also not improving. My therapist referred me to Lee, and I finally learned why certain medications were not working well for me, and equally as important, why I needed different dosing from what is "standard." Having the right meds for me, at the right dose, has definitely improved a lot, and given me back my quality of life. I'm sleeping better, my anxiety is lower, and I look forward to the day most of the time. I feel like my treatment is matched to me instead of feeling like a failure because most meds were not previously working.

Client: Post Surgical Vomiting & Pain

After a major abdominal surgery I expected to feel rough and have pain the first day. What I wasn't expecting was to wake up with violent waves of nausea and vomiting. The medications that I was given were not helping to get it under control. I was scared, in so much pain and afraid of opening my incisions from the vomiting. I later learned, after I had pharmacogenetic testing, that the medications used weren't effective for me, based upon my DNA results. In the future, if I ever need surgery again, my doctor and medical team can choose medications that will help me heal, not leave me miserable, in pain, and afraid to move.
One simple test can provide medication insights that last a lifetime.

Absolutely. Pharmacogenetic testing is based on well-established scientific research. The FDA has recognized the importance of genetic factors in medication response and has updated many medication labels to include pharmacogenetic information. Our testing methodology follows rigorous clinical guidelines and is supported by hundreds of peer-reviewed studies.
Yes. We provide comprehensive, easy-to-understand reports that are designed specifically for healthcare providers to use in clinical decision-making. Many doctors are increasingly recognizing the value of pharmacogenetic information. Your report includes specific, actionable recommendations that your doctor can easily incorporate into your treatment plan.
We take your privacy extremely seriously. Your genetic information is protected by multiple layers of security and is never sold or shared with third parties. Our testing complies with all HIPAA regulations, and you maintain complete ownership of your genetic data. We only analyze genes related to medication processing—not health conditions or other sensitive information.
Even if your current medications seem effective, you might still be experiencing subtle side effects or not achieving optimal results. Pharmacogenetic testing can help confirm you're on the right medications or potentially identify even better options. Additionally, the results remain valid for life and can guide any future medication decisions for new conditions or treatments.
Your genetic profile doesn't change throughout your lifetime, so the results of your pharmacogenetic test will remain valid for life. This makes it an excellent long-term investment in your health.
